The Mersey Gateway Project

Businesses using HGVs and coaches will be major beneficiaries of the wider benefits that the Mersey Gateway Project will bring to Halton and the wider north west region as journey time reliability and connectivity is of crucial importance to many of these businesses.

The prices for HGVs and coaches depend on the size and weight of the vehicle.

How much will it cost for HGVs to cross the bridges?
It depends on the weight of your HGV.  HGVs over 3.5 tonnes but under 12 tonnes pay a standard toll fare of £6.00 with discounts of 5% and 10% available to video-registered users and sticker-registered users.  HGVs over 12 tonnes pay a standard toll fare of £8.00 with discounts of 5% and 10% available to video-registered users and sticker-registered users.
Is there a monthly or annual pass that can be purchased for HGVs or coaches?

No – however, HGVs and coaches are eligible to participate in the video-registered and sticker-registered discount schemes saving 5% and 10% respectively on each crossing of the river.

The toll provider will offer simplified toll administration and payments arrangements for companies expected to be large users of the crossings.

How much will it cost for coaches to cross the bridges?
It depends on the weight of the coach.  Coaches or other passenger carrying vehicles with nine or more seats weighing less than five tonnes pay a standard toll fare of £6.00 with discounts of 5% and 10% available to video-registered users and sticker-registered users.  Coaches weighing over five tonnes pay a standard toll fare of £8.00 with discounts of 5% and 10% available to video-registered users and sticker-registered users.
