The Mersey Gateway Project and Halton Borough Council have worked hard to consult with interested parties at a local, regional and national level throughout the development of the plans for the project.
This formal consultation, which began in 2002, took place in a number of distinct phases and included a 14-week pre-planning application consultation to help shape the detail of the planning applications and legal orders and a further consultation period following their submission.

The project team has recently consulted on a number of proposed changes to the scheme which would require minor amendments to the existing planning approvals. You can find out more about the proposed changes here.
