Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Runcorn operation is to become the first business to be relocated by the Mersey Gateway Project.
Halton Borough Council has received a double boost in its bid to build a new bridge over the River Mersey with approval from new Roads Minister Paul Clark MP and the new shadow authority in Cheshire West and Chester also supporting the scheme.

Halton Borough Council has emphasised that it is doing all that it can to deliver the new Mersey Gateway bridge, which will alleviate the gridlock caused when essential maintenance is being carried out on the Silver Jubilee Bridge.
Support for the Mersey Gateway Project from Warrington Borough Council was confirmed this week (Wednesday 7th October) with the signing of an agreement between the authority and Halton Borough Council.
