The Mersey Gateway Project

Graduate Engineer
(Reference MGCB 20)

Widnes
Salary (£19,680 – £22,140) + Pension + Flexible Working + Training Package

Mersey Gateway Crossings Board Ltd is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Graduate Engineer to support the Technical Team.

The successful candidate will work on one of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK, working closely with the Technical Team.

Initially under the supervision of the Board’s consultant Technical and Contractual Advisers you will be expected to both contribute to and gain experience from the Board’s discharge of its contractual functions and obligations in the highways, structures and geotechnical/contaminated land engineering disciplines.

During the current design and construction phase of the project, this would involve desk based support to the formal review of the DBFO Contractor’s technical proposals and site based support for audit, monitoring and inspection of construction activities.

The graduate secondment to the core team of consultant Technical and Contractual Advisers would be managed under their accredited ICE training scheme under the guidance and direction of a Delegated Engineer within the core site team and an experienced Supervising Civil Engineer available within the off-site support team.

It is expected that there will be an opportunity for the Graduate Engineer to remain with the Board to assist in delivering its contractual functions and obligations during the operational phase of the DBFO contract.
