Mersey Gateway roadworks update – 26 September 2016

Essential work on the Mersey Gateway Project means the following new road, lane and footpath closures will be in place over the coming days and weeks.

Date Road Details
From 26/9/16 Ditton roundabout, Widnes The new road under Ditton junction bridge will be opened and Ditton roundabout will be reconfigured to a signalised junction.

The southbound Queensway onslip from Ditton junction to the Silver Jubilee Bridge will close. The northbound Queensway offslip to Ditton junction will become two-way to take two lanes of traffic in both directions between Ditton junction and the Silver Jubilee Bridge.

Traffic travelling from Ditton Road to the Silver Jubilee Bridge will need to go through Ditton junction to the Kingsway roundabout and return to the junction along Moor Lane until the new bridge opens in autumn 2017.

From 26/9/16 Moor Lane / Lower House Lane / Ashley Way junction, Widnes The junction between Moor Lane, Lower House Lane and Ashley Way will be fully open with traffic signal controls.
28/9/16 – 5/10/16 Beechwood Avenue, Runcorn Two-way temporary traffic signals on Beechwood Avenue under Weston Link.
3/10/16 for approx. 6 months Ditton Road, Widnes Closure of access to Ditton Road westbound (towards Hale) from Ditton junction. A diversion will be in place.
